Katie Boggs
I was born and raised in Nebraska on a farm/ranch learning a strong work ethic from the beginning (whether I wanted to or not). I joined the Army a few years after high school and served for 6 years in Korea and Texas as a finance specialist. After the military I went to school and obtained a Masters in Social Work and starting working in Hospice. During this time I went back and got a Masters in Healthcare Administration and also started Katie's Roadside Rescue during my last semester. It was the involvement with the rescue community that led to the realization of the need for victims of domestic violence to have a safe place for their pets. I have been called to do His work for the voiceless and now it is underway.

I was born and raised in San Antonio. I started volunteering for rescue about 3 years ago. I discovered Katie Boggs and Katie's Raodside Rescue shortly after that and have been involved ever since helping with events, fundraisers and networking. I also help her with the distribution of dog food to local rescues through the National Rescue Bank doing the paperwork and inventory at the warehouse. I have two foster fails, a 13 year old catahoula and a 3 year old slightly neurotic mutt. I have my BA and MA in history and loved every moment of my studies. This new project is exciting to be a part of.

I am originally from the state of Minnesota having been relocated to San Antonio as a military spouse. I have nearly 25 years of experience in working in the field of finance holding positions in government, nonprofit, and private industry with a B.S. in Business Management. I am a member of the IMA (Institute of Management Accountants) formerly holding the position of treasurer on the board of Wichita Kansas chapter. Though more of a “cat person” I am a member of the Feral Cat Coalition and have long been troubled about the plight of the huge homeless pet population in San Antonio. I believe in the vision of Katie Boggs and look forward to helping make a difference in the lives of those who so desperately need rescuing.

I was born and raised in Illinois. Grew up always wanting a dog, in which my parents made happen when I was 16 years old. Ever since then I have grown to love dogs for their companionship. I graduated from Governors State University with a Bachelors degree in Community Health. It was the journey to attaining a Bachelors degree that led to my interest in learning more about domestic violence. I have two fur babies of my own, which were rescued. I moved to San Antonio two years ago seeking to make a change in a community through program planning and development. I am a domestic violence advocate for families in San Antonio, TX. With this new project, I hope to extend my advocacy to the animals who do not have a voice in a domestic violence home.
